Caldwell 5 or IC 342 is a spiral galaxy in the constellation Camelopardalis that is notable for its low surface brightness and is part of the Maffei Group of galaxies, located approximately 10.7 million light-years away from Earth. It is also known as the "Hidden Galaxy" due to obscuring stars and dust of the Milky Way in front of it.
